MINUTES FROM THE REGULAR MEETING

WEST GEAUGA COMMUNITY JOINT RECREATION DISTRICT

January 17, 2018     

Meeting was called to order by President Walt Waetjen at 7:05 pm at the West Geauga High School library. Roll call was taken by clerk, Monica Gromek. Board members present:

Jason Abate was also present.  

The minutes for the: December 2017 meeting were presented. Ed Curtis motioned to accept the minutes. John Gromek seconded. Vote was taken:

All in favor, motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report for December 2017 was distributed by treasurer, Ed Curtis. The December treasurer’s report showed: Ending checking balance: $13,232.93; Total disbursements: $25.00; Total deposits: $67.63; Unencumbered funds: $39,933.55; Encumbered funds: $0. John Gromek motioned to accept the treasurer’s report; Bernie Mandel seconded. Vote was taken: 

All in favor, motion carried.

Frank Formicelli motioned to pay the following bills:

Don Drockton seconded. Vote was taken:

Ed Curtis distributed the Annual Operating Results for 2017 and explained figures. -2,971.32 end of year balance.

Ed distributed the Certificate of Total Amount from All Resources Available for Expenditures and Balances; submitted to County Auditor. Report to State of Ohio also sent. 2017 Expense Detail was passed out to all Board Members.

The Annual Appropriation Resolution for Permanent Appropriations was read by clerk Monica Gromek; as follows:

The Board of Trustees of the West Geauga Joint Community Recreation District, Geauga County, Ohio, met in Regular Session on the 17^th day of January, 2018, at the   West Geauga High School Library with the following members present:

Bernie Mandel moved to adopt the following Resolution:

Geauga County, Ohio, that to provide for the current expenses and other expenditures of said Board of Trustees, during the fiscal year, ending December 31^st, 2018, the following sums be and same are hereby set aside and appropriated for the several purposes for which expenditures are to be made for and during said fiscal year, as follows, viz:

Ed distributed Calendar of Events - 2018.

Facilities – Linda Palchick No report

Maintenance – John Gromek Jason reports snow plowing a few times.   Jason Abate reports that he is not using True Green again this year for the field fertilization. May go back to Lawn Matters; they had a complete product.   Ian is not there now.

Walt Waetjen – Attendance at Board Meetings – Walt asked members if you cannot attend meetings, please let Walt know. It is so very important for all Board Members to attend our once a month meeting. When Pat Jasko was the Chairman of the Board, she enforced members only to miss 3 meetings a year. Walt wants more participation from Board Members.

Walt also stating we must get the website going; to get DiFranco here at our Meetings. John Gromek removed the banner from the Levy (passing in November 2017). Mick Benitez-Santana to be involved with website.

New Business – Bernie Mandel will review our bylaws for updating.
