Discussion
Linda Palchick has information from the Newbury Soccer Fields about an agreement to split the cost of the soccer fields at Newbury. For future use for practice and merge if the Commons field is not useable. 2025-2026 season it will reevaluate the age 13, 14, 15 using this field. Soccer Club and Newbury did these fields. Field was very muddy before. A WG Schoolboard member questioned to look at Newbury facility ; could it be a Commons II. Interest that Newbury should have a similar structure to the Commons. What are future plans? It’s easiest for our Board to go for a replacement levy; It would be a monumental job to go for a new levy. Discussion that Newbury can form their own Rec. Board – easiest way is to incorporate with us. Maybe 5 0-60K in funds needed for Newbury. Search for ODNR grants for the Joint Rec Board to be in for ½ the $$$.
Open discussion started by Linda Palchick regarding House Bill 47 signed by Gov. DeWine in July of 2024. It was introduced to be required onsite at all sports and recreation facilities to have an AED on the premises. Electricity is needed at The Commons. Could not be left over the winter. Investigate a solar power charged AED and a cabinet for it. Sara Sustin will research.
Next meeting 6:30 p on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Linda Palchick motioned for meeting adjournment at 7:45 pm. Ed Curtis seconded. Vote was taken – Ed Curtis, yes; Chris Domonkos, yes; Frank Formicelli, yes; Rick Izant, yes; Linda Palchick, yes; Sara Sustin, yes; Greg Poe, yes; All in favor, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
